At delivery you then want to make sure that the aircraft is performing absolutely right, the equipment all works in accordance with the manufacturers’ specifications and that all the paperwork is 100% correct.

When purchasing a used aircraft the assessment complications increase ten fold. Assessing how the aircraft has been operated and how it has been maintained since it left the factory is absolutely critical. A small modification not in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification could cause untold problems downstream. A thorough aircraft paperwork audit should accurately reflect aircraft history and then performing a thorough physical inspection of the aircraft will verify this history and check for damage or problems. With such an expensive investment, nothing should be left to chance.  

You may also need to change the country of registration for the aircraft. To perform this easily without considerable delay and cost it is absolutely critical to make sure that the aircraft will meet the requirements of its country of destination's aviation authority. Bringing an aircraft from say the USA to Europe can be hugely problematic if not fully assessed.
